Meet Arlene...
I am a North Jersey photographer and I specialize in pet photography. I developed an interest in photography during high school, purchased my first 35mm camera, and started printing black-and-white photos in my own darkroom. I furthered my passion by earning a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts from Montclair State University in Montclair, New Jersey.
My love for animals led me to specialize in pet photography. Our dog Mason was a vital part of our family. We adopted this handsome half Beagle, half Jack Russell when he was three years old, and he lived his best life until the age of 17. I am grateful to have preserved his memory through my photography. Since then, we rescued another dog, Kazoo, who is half Husky and half Beagle, and he has been a wonderful addition to our family.
In 2020, I embarked on an amazing journey dedicated to capturing the essence of beloved pets in all their furry glory. Over the years, I have had the privilege of photographing a diverse range of pets, creating timeless memories for families to cherish. Whether it’s a solo in-studio portrait, session or capturing the whole family at an outdoor location, I strive to portray the unique bond you share with your pets.
I volunteer for A Pathway to Hope, www.apathwaytohope.org/, a non-profit organization in North Jersey focused on rescuing, rehabilitating, and adopting abandoned dogs and cats. Getting a quality photo of a pet when they first arrive at a shelter is often nearly impossible. The animal may feel nervous, scared, and unsure of their surroundings, and my goal is to help the pet relax while taking a professional photo that captures its personality. I have been offering photography services free of charge for fosters and adoptions, and I have photographed pets at sponsored fundraising events.
In my spare time, I enjoy going for walks with Kazoo and visiting the beach. If I’m not photographing pets, I am usually taking sunrise and sunset photos at the Jersey Shore. I also have a passion for photographing wildlife and black and white long exposure photography. I hope you think I would be a great fit for your four-legged best friend and reach out to me soon.
